The jury's review
Jury review of Duo Case
A deadpan satire of premium consumer hardware marketing, coupling Apple-tier rendering and scroll choreography with sharp comedic writing.
Duo Case is an affectionate, merciless parody of Cupertino's launch aesthetics, executed with the very craft it satirises. Rather than relying solely on the gag—hinging two obsolete handsets together—the site fully commits to high-end industrial design conventions: immaculate rim-lit hardware renders, immaculate typographic hierarchy, and deadpan copy ('Zero new technology', 'Up to 200% of one battery'). The integration of smooth scrollytelling via Lenis and GSAP lends real physical weight to the unfolding mechanism. While accessibility could be enhanced with explicit reduced-motion accommodations and higher-contrast supporting text, the conceptual commitment and aesthetic execution are stellar.
What the jury loved
- Flawless tonal parody of big-tech marketing through copy, typography, and lighting.
- Hyper-detailed 3D product rendering that sells the deadpan comedic premise.
- Clean semantic structure with comprehensive landmarks and well-labeled interactive elements.
