The jury's review
Jury review of GearDex
A product management suite tailored for photographers, offering inventory tracking, carnet documents, and gear scheduling.
GearDex positions itself as an operating system for camera gear, targeting photographers and production studios with an exhaustive suite of kit management tools. Technically, the front-end structure is cleanly executed: accessibility standards are respected with proper ARIA landmarks, labelled interactives, and explicit support for prefers-reduced-motion. While the absence of rendered imagery tempers visual evaluation, the extensive feature set—ranging from carnet generation to QR asset tracking—demonstrates deep domain understanding, though the extensive megamenu structure suggests potential usability density challenges.
What the jury loved
- Comprehensive semantic markup with complete landmark structure and no unlabelled interactive controls.
- Thoughtful integration of reduced-motion styles and native dark-mode support.
- Deep functional utility focused specifically on professional photography and production workflows.
