Jury review of JUNGLE — Studio Yann Do
A physics-driven Swiss design studio portfolio conceived as a kinetic conveyor belt machine where typography and project artifacts tumble and interact.
Jungle (Studio Yann Do) departs radically from conventional portfolio templates by framing its showcase as a kinetic physics playground. Grounded in crisp, heavyweight Swiss grotesk typography set against a warm, neutral backdrop, the concept introduces industrial conveyor mechanics where artifacts and letters collide and cascade. While visually compelling and daringly experimental, this idiosyncratic approach creates usability friction: the initial desktop viewport provides minimal visual scaffolding or evident navigation until triggered, and semantic structure is virtually non-existent for assistive technologies. Even so, the sheer personality, bespoke tactile physics, and confident subversion of typical portfolio patterns make it an arresting piece of interactive design.
What the jury loved
- Bold, sculptural typographic identity executed with crisp Swiss aesthetic discipline
- Original interactive concept transforming portfolio navigation into a kinetic physical machine
- Thoughtful accessibility provisions including explicit dark mode and reduced-motion media query handling
