Jury review of Rafa de las Heras
An interactive 3D room and retro OS experience staging the portfolio of Rafa de las Heras with floppy disks, drawers, and an interactive guestbook.
Rafa de las Heras constructs an ambitious, skeuomorphic portfolio anchored in a retro computing and virtual room metaphor ('RAFA / OS'). Visitors interact with physical office objects, insert floppy disks to browse projects, and leave persistent notes on an interactive guestbook wall. While the narrative depth and gamified environment offer substantial personality and inventive flair, the simulation layer inevitably creates friction for direct content discovery. Accessibility considerations, such as explicit reduced-motion accommodations and screen-reader traversability for complex 3D mechanics, require refinement to match the playful conceptual execution.
What the jury loved
- Playful and immersive concept marrying a 3D physical workspace with a retro simulated desktop.
- Interactive guestbook and tactile micro-interactions that engage the user deeply.
- Strong semantic scaffolding with labelled inputs and complete structural landmarks.
